You could just go the way of existing telecom solutions and provide one cable for data and one for voice. At that point, if voice is the only thing on your link, that's one heckuva codec if you're seeing issues on a regular LAN link.
And on the topic of usability, I'll never say that all VOIP solutions are alike. It's a safe assumption that some are lesser than others, just as with the digital world.
Cost is something I won't go into, because that also varies from implementation to implementation in both traditional and IP telephony. |
