Been with Vonage for ~5 years now. Service reliability is a direct function of your variety of broadband. Upload bandwidth is critical, as is resonable routing latency.

On wireless line-of-sight (WaveLinx 128 to 512k up,1.5M dn) was abysmal as the routing stunk. Lots of out of order packets. On DSL (AT&T 512up, 1.5M dn) it's peachy. On Cable (Cox, Comcast to 6M dn) it rocks with nary a glitch. Put a lot of traffic on your local network without QoS, and you will have digital artifacting unless you have copious bandwidth. Set things up right, though, and you should not have a problem.

I second the need for a cell phone as backup as an ISP outage takes it all down.
