Someone should explain online petitions by TheGM2007-05-09 04:30:08
do online petitions serve any purpose? by hieraco 2007-05-09 04:47:21
Or do they have all thepolitical pull of a UF quick poll? Most petitions Ihave seen on the net, fail to say, who they are being sent to, how they are being delivered (electronic or printed out), and what specific course of action they are supporting, or requesting.
In effect, a petition that says "we want the government to stop global warming" will get lots of "signatures" but has less impact than a child crying in a toy store.
