Quantitative research on media slant. by Esteis2007-05-09 03:59:31
yeah, but by zeitnot 2007-05-09 04:20:48
...don't newspapers make most of their money from ad sales, especially classifieds?

Having worked in the online department of one metro paper some years ago, I didn't see any marketing research or strategy that looked sophisticated enough to examine the demographics of the area and tailor the editorials to match the preferences of the readers.

In fact... what I did see was a lot of automation held together with barbed wire and chewing gum, and a lot of columnists and editors with inflated egos and personal axes to grind.
