Get Heli bar risers. Lifetime warranty and they probably make a sest just for your model bike.

As far as bargaining, take in the state of the bike...fasteners tight and rust-free? Adjusters free of rounded-off corners/ vise-grip marks? Do all the lights and signals work? Gauges all work and light up? Take a look at the gear shift...is it bent? Same for brake pedal and clutch and brake levers. Look for lay-down damage. Dinged up mirrors are a good indicator for a lay-down.

I know it seems excessive, but you're going to be riding it, ya know?

Depending on how much he's asking and what year the bike is, you can judge it's shape and deal from there:)
