Free antivirus programs? by Arivia2007-05-06 10:56:55
Related: I'm running the HouseCall from Trend righ by Bonzo 2007-05-06 13:12:48
t now..
I've been watching the system monitor as well..
It's using 766884 K of my RAM right now!
Once single exe file, using more than seven hundred megabytes of RAM!
And it's rising!
It'll be interesting to see what it end at.

Btw, I'm using the online thingy, because I discovered a virus (for the second time!) on a computer that plays webserver..
It uses Avast and Windows Update as its only line of defence. (Not counting my pfSense gateway)

Twice! This time it was a question at boottime; "Do you want to run 'winlogin.exe' from 'Unknown Publisher'?"
I looked in the registry under "Run", and there was a "adsl not-a-virus" string that wanted to launch "winlogin.exe"
I deleted the reg key, and the .exe file, and started a thorough scan with Avast.
And I'm now doublechecking with HouseCall 6.6 from Trend Micro.

All of my computers run Avast, but after this SECOND offence..
Let's just say I'll be watching this thread for some good hints for myself.. ;)
