There is a reason why it is convenient to define that there must be two distinct positive integers dividing p. Otherwise, the decomposition of a positive integer into prime factors would not be unique (e.g. 18 = 233, 18 = 2331, 18 = 2331*1,...). That would drive all crypto-specialists and most mathematicians insane.
