I thought about friendship, when I wrote my Scout leaders promise about 1 and a half year ago. As I read through it once again, I can't even think of any better words to define friendship.
To be a friend: friendship it the most worth-while gift you can give.
Our Scouting founder Lord Robert Baden-Powell of Gilwell said in his last words to the Scouts:
"The most worth-while thing is to try to put happiness into the lives of others."
A friend is always there for the other, has an open ear for problems, offers help from one-self, gives you a smile when you need it. You know that she / he is there for you, and you appreciate it. |
