you can even die of water poisoning, though you'd need to drink more than 4 litres of it... Last year an American radio station had a contest called 'Hold your wee for a Wii', where contestants had to drink lots of water and were not allowed to go to the bathroom, in order to win Nintendos latest gaming console. (not officially sanctioned, and this contest cost the DJs their jobs) One contestant (who didn't win incidentally) went home with a blaring headache and a few hours later was found dead. Cause of death, water poisoning.
