but the chance of every department having a book of passports I am not so positive on, in fact I doubt it because of the volume of possibilities.

Here is a link to the Dept of Homeland Security aobut the 8000 plus types of ID they accept to allow people to enter the U.S. If you were a police force that does not see Passports that often would you spend your time and effort on the passports or the types of ID that you see defrauded frequently?

The point of all of this really boils back down to the fact that She broke the law and would have gone through the same thing being from Canada, the U.K. or from another state in the U.S. As I have said elsewhere in this thread, You also have to figure in time to get a response back from the Canadian officials as to if that information is valid or not and to dot all the i's and cross the t's on the paperwork.
