for a passport was exactly to avoid having this problem. That because a driver's license isn't enough to identify a foreigner everybody (including Canadians) are now required to carry passports when visiting the US. I guess that requirement doesn't provide the expected benefits, huh? It sure costs us lots of time and money, though.
