Will they let you replace the switch with another by Havoc2007-04-30 11:59:14
Alas, no I may not replace the unit. by Myke 2007-04-30 12:03:43
(Unless via RMA, which I just did)

These guys balked when I told them they needed a router to have 4 different networks (as opposed to their $30 SMC Barricade they had)... and all I did was take a PC from their garbage pile and put pfSense on it.

I Understand what you're saying about TFTP config management, but the stupid thing IS storing the config (if I manually save it or not), but on bootup, I can see it belching errors about the syntax of the config.

Bear in mind that this is a web-manageable switch, and I'm using the web UI to configure it, so it's not like I'm fat-fingering or screwing up the config.

Two switches, 3 versions of firmware, all with similar problems.
(The replacement unit came with ancient firmware, it doesn't store ANY VLANs at all, the newer firmware can store one or two before breaking)

I need to talk to a product engineer.
