Famous last words: This should be easy by merlin 2007-04-30 12:03:28

This is NOT going to be easy. There are only something like 30 dependent tasks, and you are asking me to insert something at the beginning of the package. That means every one of those dependent tasks has to be checked to make sure their precedence values don't get borked. Oh, yeah, and there's that one other issue.

We have two versions of this system, but you didn't want two separate import packages. So, operating under the caveat that the two packages would be identical except for primary source and primary destination, we created a combined package that sets connect-strings on the fly based on a passed parameter. Now you're telling me I have to configure the package to also have a conditional branch that only executes in situation X but not situation Y.

Yeah, this will be easy. . . . . . . . easy to screw up.
