WELCOME!!! The Funny Farm hereby opens its doors again to good UFies everywhere. Okay, the bad UFies can also come...if they behave. ;-)

As mentioned earlier the Funny Farm will now be posted twice a week instead of every single day. I found out (the hard way) that it was difficult finding good quality material all the time and quite stressfull too. Therefore the Funny Farm will be condensed into two postings that I will (try to) manufacture for your viewing entertainment Tuesdays and Fridays.

DISCLAIMER: Did you see the "(try to)" in the text above? That means that I will 'try' to be on time and post the Farm on Tuesday and Fridays. If I should somehow, for whatever reason, miss these deadlines I take no responsability whatsoever. Nyah, nyah, nyah. :-P
Also should a cheese fall onto you head that's no my problem either. Instead be a responsable person and eat it or shove it in your left ear. Cheese is good. ;-)

For this season opener I've chosen something very special.
It's a hilarious list from the mailorder magazine "Previews". It appeared on The Splash Page in the October issue of 1996 and has since roamed the internet in various guises. If this list has appeared before this date I don't know, but the accompanying text suggests that it's originates from this very issue of Previews. If anyone knows more of its origins than this you are very welcome to part with said information.

Enjoy. :-)

"In recent months, an odd sort of conflict has sprung up, centering on a simple question: "Which is better - Star Wars or Star Trek?" Well, we men of the Previews Bullpen have our own opinions, of course, but far be it from us to abuse our lofty positions to influence such scholarly debate.

Still, we have definite ideas about these two universes, and one thing's for sure - the Rebellion could whip the Federation any day of the week...

TOP TEN REASONS WHY THE STAR WARS CHARACTERS WOULD KICK BUTT IN THE STAR TREK UNIVERSE

10 - In the Star Wars universe, weapons rarely, if ever, set on "stun".

9 - The Enterprise needs a huge engine room with an anti-matter unit and a crew of twenty just to go into warp - the Millennium Falcon does the same thing with R2D2 and a Wookie.

8 - After resisting the Imperial torture droid and Darth Vader, Princess Leia still looked fresh and desirable - after a pithy Cardassian starvation torture, Picard looked like hell.

7 - One word: lightsabers.

6 - Darth Vader could choke the entire Borg empire with one glance.

5 - The Death Star doesn't care if a world is class 'M' or not.

4 - Luke Skywalker is not obsessed with sleeping with every alien he encounters.

3 - Jabba the Hutt would eat Harry Mudd for trying to cut in on his action.

2 - The Federation would have to attempt to liberate any ship named Slave I.

1 - Picard pilots Enterprise through an asteroid belt at one-quarter impulse power. Han Solo floors it."

There you have it my fellow UFies. The famous Star Wars vs Star Trek top ten list.

Tune in on Friday where you get the little known sequel:

"Top Ten Reason Why We'd Rather Live In The Star Trek Universe Than The Star Wars Universe".
