So, I was working on the vehicle this weekend, and through a slight oversight on my part, cranked the engine while a sensor was disconnected. The sensor appears to be an airflow sensor (it's on the air hose that goes from the main air filter to the throttle body). I now have an engine fault code saying there's a problem with my EGR system sensors. I'm assuming this sensor is part of the EGR loop. Is that correct?
Also, is there an easy way to clear the code? I've heard disconnecting the battery for 5-10 minutes will turn the trick. I called AutoZone and they said they're not really supposed to clear codes, but that in certain circumstances they could.
Oh, it's a 2001 Chevy Venture van. |
