Next time, shall we NOT offer help to the US? by klaranth2007-04-30 02:30:56
It sounds to me as if people of good heart by Peace_man 2007-04-30 09:20:04
and faith were not given the freedom to help. And people wishing to profit from others' misfortunes were - well, at least hindered slightly, but not stopped by a long shot.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like there might simply be a problem with society in general. Suspicion abounds, and people honestly wishing to lend a helping hand aren't assisted and welcomed. Or maybe it's simply that greed has become too pervasive in the society - it is expected as a matter of course.

I don't know what it will take to turn around and head back to a better course - one where people helping people is seen as a matter of course, and not a matter for suspicion. I believe strongly in the importance of a government following sound ethical principles and showing transparency rather than following any particular ideology. Possibly focusing on ideology rather than on ethical behaviour is what is making society drift further and further away from healthy attitudes?

And then again, maybe I'm just rambling incoherently:-)
