When coasting downhill, never go in neutral - you are losing control of vehicle (there always may be situation requiring acceleration, and when in gear engine is already in higher revs, so you accelererate faster and cheaper), using more fuel (you are using very little, maybe no fuel when coasting in gear) and wearing out brakes. When you are traveling short distances daily keep in mind that higher revs will keep your car battery charged and engine better lubricated.
