Is it possible to attribute an 'absolute value' to by hadji2007-04-26 21:35:48
Well, the absolute value of i -is- 1. by arktus2007-04-26 21:43:40
Look at the complex plane by run.dll 2007-04-26 22:02:34
where reals are on the horizontal axis and imaginaries on the vertical axis.
Then each complex number has a unique location on the complex plane and can be assigned a magnitude (distance from the origin) and angle.
"i" has a length of one unit at 90 degrees to the +x axis (i.e. straight up).
The length is identified with the absolute value, so "i" has an absolute value of 1.
