Attn: Uficle, Punkbuster question by kreepykrawly 2007-04-26 18:00:28
anyone having trouble with the new punkbuster updates?

Just installed BF 2142, it works fine on singleplayer or over lan, but when I connect to a punkbuster server, I get kicked. tried all options, ie reinstall, manual update etc. Google-fu shows many ppl have a similar problem.

Left ticket with pb helpdesk. (extremely helpful *NOT*)

Did notice that PnkBstrB.exe hasn't installed as a service like PnkBstrA.exe has. (these are the non optional services according to PB) The new updates are for vista users, but all os's now have to use them.

Checked the PB log files. seems like PnkBstrB.exe hasn't been signed, so xp won't let it install/run.

A\V disabled as well as win firewall (I know it's dangerous, just for setting up\diagnostic purposes)

XP pro, 2gb ram etc

Anybody got ideas?? (Not using xp isn't an option) ß-Þ

Still, do you think EA will take notice of it? by kreepykrawly2007-04-26 22:44:23
