question... does Shaw Cable actually enforce downl by ag_wyvern2007-04-26 11:48:48
Yes they keep track by hieraco2007-04-26 14:00:53
The key is do they follow up on it? by Menetlaus 2007-04-26 14:37:04
I'm on Shaw at home and probably should see how many nasty emails they sent me in the last year. And now all the cable providers define the "unlimited" to mean access (24/7) not usage.

I was on Cogeco cable in Ontario a few years ago... 3 heavy downloaders and 2 other students on a cable modem... we got a few "slow down" the downloading emails, and a couple follow up nasty-grams saying would shut down the account in 24 hours if we didn't do something asap. But since we didn't use the email account (the one they "supplied" with the modem) we didn't get the notices until weeks after they sent them - but by then we knew nothing had happened to our service so we could ignore the warnings.
