being turned down for a job because your girlfriend made a comment abotu not wanting to move on a blog is just plain wrong. For a start it in no way represents the candidate, he may be applying for jobs far away as he was plannig to split up with the girlfriend for example. It's just not on, and he has every right to sue for loss of potential earnings
