Parade Rest - From standing at attention, change to Stand At Ease [command: Parade! Stand at...EASE!] {standing straight, feet shoulder width apart, hands clasped behind back} then to parade rest [Command: Stand... easy] {hands brought to sides} after this orders are given informally "Gather around" "Shake it out" "Smoke 'em if you got 'em" - rarely use outside of practice parades. The only formal parade I have seen Stand Easy used was remembrance day after removing head dress (hats)and a moment of silence, the Command Replace head dress was given, followed by at ease, and stand easy, then we fixed our hats, had some political speeches, followed by being called back to attention, and marched off parade.
Canadian Salute: Longest way up, shortest way down. (hand swings out from the body and up to the peak of the cap (dress uniform) or the eyebrow (beret) held for count of two, then snapped down. [count: Up..two..three..Down]
