At least, I'm pretty sure that's what this is. I had to make some food to bring to a meeting tonight; I looked around my kitchen and saw two things:
1) Easter candy, mostly chocolate. Mmm... chocolate. I should make a dessert with this stuff!
2) Phyllo dough - I've been making some Greek food, and had a few sheets left over. Thin + buttery = yumm!
After about 15 minutes of work, I had created the following recipe:
1 white chocolate Easter bunny
1 milk chocolate Easter bunny
8 peeps (about a dozen large marshmellows
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup whipping cream
2 cups peacans, in pieces
12 sheets phyllo dough
~1/4 cup oil (butter is good; I used olive oil)
1 12-cupcake tin OR 2 6-cupcake tins
Preheat the oven to 300*F. Melt the bunnies, peeps, milk, and cream over medium heat, then add the peacans. Set down to low heat to avoid burning.
Grease the cupcake tin(s), then prepare the dough: take one sheet at a time, fold it in half, coat with oil, then fold in half again (oil-side-in). Place one square of dough into each cupcake hole (or whatever those things are called). Then, ladle the chocolate mix into each of the dough pockets until each one is about half full, and fold the extra dough over onto the mix, covering it. Stick it into the oven for around 25 minutes, or until golden brown on top and the chocolate has all dribbled out.
At this point, you must be very, very full of food, 'cause otherwise these things won't actually make it to a serving plate... it may take a bit of pulling to get 'em out of the holes.
I kinda feel bad, because there was a going away party at the end of the meeting, but no one touched the "we'll miss you" cake... they were too busy eating my newly-invented dessert. |
