fingerprinting. ITS A good idea but the problem is that the tests are far from concluseive and you can only trace the sale or stolen path of a gun so far.If you buy a gun legaly and your home is broken in to and the gun is stolen and then used in a crime the bullet fingerprint goes to YOU. and then you have to prove the gun was stolen. (you might not know if your son managed to get hold of your handgun some how) and with modern frangible bullets theres often not enough to test. And theres no buget to test the bullets.
