Will mail arrive if.. by Slack 2007-04-20 17:47:29
If you send a letter to someone and you don't include the zip code in the address, will it still get to them? I was under the impression that it would, but it might take a bit longer.

What about if the zip code is supposed to be 9 digits but you only write the first 5 on? Do the answers to these questions differ if you send something via USPS or a company like FedEx?

Basically, I'm waiting to receive an employment related packet from a company who has made me a job offer. The address they have for me includes a zip code that is only the first 5 digits, without the 4 digit extension. It's been roughly a 2 weeks and I've been in contact with HR telling them that it's still not here. I noticed today that the zip code they had was "short" and was wondering if that could be why, but I was unable to find any definitive answers on the internet.

Thanks for any help anyone has. I'm trying to think of anything because I can't afford not to take this job and while even though I've told HR verbally that I fully intend to accept I'll feel a lot better when it's in writing.

No zip code is bad, short one SHOULD be OK by Stuka2007-04-20 18:10:28
