And who knows, maybe being out of the stress of the environment will alleviate some of the symptoms. And it all depends on the insurance company that provides the disability and who is your case manager. I was on long-term for about 6 months a year ago and between very helpful HR people at my company and an actual decent human being at the insurance company, it was pretty painless and the checks came on a regular basis. One word of advice, set up some kind of quarterly tax payment, they generally don't do witholding on disability and the IRS got a little hissy with me just a few days ago over it.
