Many thanks for your replies yesterday --- you guys have been very helpful.
I've made a list of commands for the directors; if you want to, could you look over them and check for mistakes/inconsistencies? I'm going to try my best to get them to do this scene as accurately as possible. (Although the directors have the final say, natch.)
Fall . . . IN!
Platoon forms a rectangle/line/file
Stands to 'At ease'
Dress right . . . DRESS
Turn head 45 degrees right
Extend left arm sideways, horizontal
Shuffle right until neighbour's fingertips are just touching your shoulder.
Recover to Attention position with
Ready . . . FRONT!
At close interval dress right . . . DRESS
(Tighter formation)
Turn head 45 degrees right
Put left hand on hip, elbow out
Shuffle right until neighbour's elbow is just touching your arm.
Recover to Attention position with
Ready . . . FRONT!
Parade . . . REST!
Feet shoulder width apart
Arms behind the back
Eyes straight ahead
Can only be given when facing forward
If armed, put left hand behind back, and butt of rifle on ground
Atten . . . HUHN! (US)
Atten . . . SHUN! (UK)
Standing straight,
Eyes forward,
Arms down
Feet together at a 45-degree angle
At . . . EASE!
Like Parade Rest, only you're allowed to follow the person in charge with your head and eyes.
To the Front . . . SALUTE! (Canadian)
Present . . . ARMS! (American)
Salute, with fingertips at right eyebrow
Hand flat, slanted slightly forward.
If armed, give rifle salute instead.
Ready . . . TWO! or
Order . . . ARMS! (dunno what & from where)
End salute.
Right . . . FACE!
Rotate on ball of right foot
Bring left heel down next to right
About . . . FACE!
Right toe behind left heel
Pivot on right toe and left heel
Bring left heel down next to right
Mark Time . . . MARCH!
March in place.
Ca. 120 bpm.
