A paper (the Roanoke Times) that employs a writer with severe hoplophobia (Christian Trejbal) obtained the list through a Freedom of Information Act request. They created a spreadsheet and posted it on the Paper's website.

The State Police have since closed the list through an administrative policy and the legislature is working on making sure this never happens again. Of course the writer and the paper still insist that the public has a legitimate need to know.
