some states require CCW registrations to be in databases and more than a few newspapers have maliciously posted large portions of said databases in their papers and on their websites. One I know of is up north of here in Ft. Collins, CO, and another I've heard of was out east (PA?). Which is bad for all the reasons you said and then some.
