involving power or riches. Apparently all he needed to offer was a $25 DVD.

As a side note, some years back I saw "Be among the first to sign up for the mark of the Beast and get $100 credited to your Beast account." It was a joke, but a surprising number of people emailed to find out how to trade their souls for a hundred bucks. From "what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" to "a hundred dollar credit" to "a 25 dollar DVD", in just a few short millennia :(
