Someone who dying suddenly, prematurely, is very sad.
Someone killing themself does so from an emotional pain. It is an act of violence, directed against others, which by its very nature prevents those others from responding in any way. You could consider it sadder because there is much more emotional pain involved, and because it is meant to hurt others as well.
Or you could consider it a release from an intolerable existence, and less sad because of that.
