SS had brown, too: by CynicalRyan 2007-04-20 12:16:17

Especially, since both the SS and the SA were party organizations. The Allgemeine SS as body guard for party leaders, and the SA as counter to the "streetfighter" groups of the Spartakusbund and SPD.

The SS had black uniforms. At no point I claimed the SS used brown exclusively, especially as the SS is always depicted wearing black uniforms in movies covering WWII and Germany, and thus doesn't need further explanation.

Furthmore, the actual color Feldgrau was only use from the early 20th century until 1945 (Source, English Source).

And if you had actually looked at the image hiding behind the very first image, you'd have seen that the Wehrmacht BDUs, at least until 1942, were, in deed, grey in color. And the astute reader of my post would have noticed, that I even mentioned the Wehrmacht's and Waffen-SS's camouflaged BDUs.
