Ordnance-Corner for UFies by Ordnance_Corner2007-04-20 09:35:17
I have a question about a gun my brother left with by justncase 2007-04-20 11:36:32
me. He was stationed in Germany and didn't want to take it with him so he asked me to keep it at my place. He also had an ammo box full of ammo for it. The rifle is a bolt action 30-06 (I think). He disassembled it before he gave it to me and put it in a bag (presumably designed for the gun). Is there anything I should be doing/not doing to keep it in good condition? Is there any safety things I should be doing? I know very little about guns and shooting. This is just a storage thing. He told me to go and use the ammo up but he would prefer I didn't use the gun (he is very protective of it. :)

I have no problem keeping it for him but I would like to make sure it is in working order when he gets back. He is an army dentist so it's the least I can do. :)
