I retract the bit about "limiting the size of ammunition purchases", 'cause I can't figure out where would be a good cut-off point as to "how big of a purchase is too big".
Now for the big question, why shouldn't firearms have to be registered? I'm personally pro-gun, but also pro-gun-registration (ie, if your an American citizen, have not been convicted of a felony, have not been committed for mental health problems by order of a court, and can pass a basic gun safety course, I have no problem with you owning a gun. If you don't meet those criteria, you SHOULDN'T be allowed to own one...and the only way I can see to assure that people who legally possess a firearm meet those criteria would be registration of the firearm when it's purchased or ownership is transfered). |
