I called to change the interest rate on my credit card, and the young man asks for the security number thing, on the back of the card. So I say, because there is only the loosest connection between my brain and my mouth, "It's in the freezer in a block of ice! Gimme a minute, I'll thaw it out."
And he is treated to the unedifying sound of me running the warm tap and bashing the container against the side of the sink. If I listened carefully, I could hear him giggling.
