Later on, the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS used camouflage:

Additionally, Feldgrau was only used until 1945, the Bundeswehr always used olive green, except for officer unifroms (which are grey).

The term Fieldgrey doesn't just cover the colour used by the Wehrmacht during WWII, but became somewhat generic, too.

Indeed, the Schutzstaffel used brown for the uniforms, but so did the SS: It was the colour of the NSdAP, and both SA and SS were party organizations ("devide and conquer" is the motto here).
