          BSA is a non-profit organization by drmoats 2007-04-06 12:08:30
So, if BSA wants to be exclusionary, theycan be. They do not accept federal funding, so they are not held to the mandate that requires them to "not discriminate".

In respnose to the comment, "If he intended Boy Scouts to only be for those who believe in the Jewish/Christian God", they are not required to believe in one specific God, just required to believe in a God.

This is the reason that an Eagle Scout was stripped of his rank when he declared that he was an athiest during his time as a scout. "A scout is trustworthy", and liing about your beleif in Gad is does not a trustworthy scout make. He also sued and lost, becasue again, BSA is a non-profit and not held to the +no discrimination" law. Go Lord Bayden-Powell!!

This is written by a female BSA leader who thinks that the Boy Scouts is oe of the best orgs out there, and I am a proud member of this group.
