Good Friday question by toysbfun2007-04-06 10:36:40
Way I understood it (note: IANAC) by cybergeek 2007-04-06 12:04:04
1. God is omniscient/omnipotent. Sets goals for humanity based on what he knows we're theoretically capable of (which he knows cos he made us).

2. Realises that he doesn't have a clue what life is like AS A HUMAN, not sure if his goals are fair.

3. Jesus is created by him as a test subject as a part of himself. In this sense Jesus is literally part of God, but is not God himself. He gets powahs, but isn't omnipotent (as evidenced by that whole crucifixion thing) or (I think) omniscient.

4. Jesus experiences life as a human, complete with temptations, conscience-questions, et al.

5. Cruicifixion, Jesus is reabsorbed into God, along with memories, experiences, etc. God says "wow, living without sin is a helluva lot harder than I'd thought. Better give them some leeway." New Forgiving Loving Christian God is born.

6. Jesus comes back to life, not quite sure what all happens after that.
