it took me to find the comic? Don't underestimate the dumbness of geeks, especially before they've had coffee. In short, the nav is not intuitive. It is just similar enough to the original site to make people assume things will be in much the same place. On the columns - they work well enough, except for the narrow gutter. But I don't see how they add anything. What about your static content works better in a narrow column?
