Lost all repect for Mike & the other techs by lostrespect2007-04-06 03:48:43
So the users should not care about their data? (n/t) by NDwight2007-04-06 04:21:56
They should. by Khaar 2007-04-06 04:50:42
But they often don't. I can't blame them either, no one can think of *everything*, especially if this isn't that person's main job. Many people think stuff is done automatically or that something isn't needed. Which is why a sysadmin should at the very least offer to set up a backup.

In short, while users *should* take care of their data, you can't rely on them and so it's sysadmin's responsibility to ensure safety of important data (among other things).
