Ubuntu isn't asking me to reboot. I was simply comparing the way the update system is insisting that there is an update to the annoyance level of windows update-reboot reminders.
(Although, as it happens, Ubuntu does occasionally need to reboot for some updates and not just kernel changes. It's happened about twice in the last year.)
My problem is that ubuntu's update program isn't recognising that I have a newer version of Firefox installed, and is trying to tell me that I should instal an older version, and I can't see a way to tell it to ignore the firefox "updates". Which means I have the "system update" orange notification symbol in my tray permanently. Which is really, really annoying. |
