ok, that makes sense. A lot of sense. I was thinking of my example with slavery in the roman empire. Overthrowing slavery directly would have been impossible. It would have needed an overwhelming change in the economical structure. But at exactly that time the idea that later was called christianity was founded. And that idea - that everybody is important and is given Gods care, and not just some rich snobbyish roman patricians - started covertly and attracted more and more people over the following centuries.
