I use what the number implies - the combination of my intelligence and experience - as best as I'm capable of. While I have had my IQ measured, I was never told where I fell on that scale. My parents have it on file, somewhere.

During grade school, I was placed in what was then called the "academically talented" group. Based on discussions with MENSA members about requirements for their organization, I could qualify.

I choose not to pursue it. jdelphiki and Peace_man have stated reasons as clearly as I could.
