the question: Do the times make great leaders, or do great leaders make the historical events? Without slavery, would Lincoln achieved his place in history? In a different military era, would Napolean have done as well? Look what happened to him in Russia. Without the Viking raiders, would Alfred the Great have been a great ruler of Britain?
