Not the white noise, but the noise of jackhammers in the buildings basement.
The usual "why fix things properly, let's just get it working" way of doing things.
The office-buildings management has postponed the servicejob of fixing the master sewer well of the building, and have now decided it is time to do it properly (2 years of "hotfixes" that probably trippled the total sum), due to the sewer totally got blocked 2 weeks ago.
The "aroma" in the stairwell and elevator shafts was...interesting...
For the next week or so they are gonna jackhammer the sewer well. Even though this is 4 floors below my office, it echoes through the structure of the building and comes up in the stem that is in the corner behind me.
I'm going nuts, not getting anything done.
