Ours is wonky that way. I slide it over by catching the top with my toe (which turns it on at the same time). Take measurement. Let scale turn off, turn back on with a tap, take measurement again: +3kg (just under 7 pounds). Repeat. Same value. For whatever reason, I need to go through the first reset to get a consistent measurement. Also... make sure you have the scale in the same location each time you take a measurement. We have a rough tile floor which causes the scale to sit slightly differently in different locations, with a corresponding 'wobble' to the measured weight.
