But you can order things online for in-store delivery; pay online prices while checking out online; then pick it up off the shelf yourself inside of 5 minutes? How is that -not- price matching?
Incidentally, when I first discovered/proved this, I made a manager find me a real connection to the internet to prove the discrepancy. Turns out the computers at the Geek Squad desk don't go through the local-store 'filter.' At least, at my local store.
Another of my favorite BB stories: A friend (who is not tech-savvy) needed some antivirus software, and I was out of town. Given my experience, I told him to get a copy of Norton. Period, nothing else. He was unfortunately pressure sold a copy of Trend at the store. An OEM copy. For FULL RETAIL PRICE. And I believe an illegal OEM copy, as he didn't buy anything (hardware) else with it. BB's excuse? "Well, we must have some sort of agreement with the vendor, to resell OEM software like that..." (After I had to explain what OEM meant.) I don't expect my friend to give in again, if I name a program. Not after he watched Norton pull 7 virii off his machine while Trend was -still- claiming the system was clean in the background. And after BB refused to refund, or even acknowledge their responsibility in peddling crap software... yes, we have a small embargo. Glad to see it's growing. ^_^ |
