Print server question. by hadji 2007-02-16 18:20:40
So here's a silly question. The only way I've ever set up network printers is by giving them a static IP address, then on the print server, creating a TCP/IP port that connects to that address.

So let's say I wanted to used DHCP for my printers. How would I do that without the port losing connectivity if the printer renews it's lease with a different address? How does that work with printers?

Would you not assign an IP to the printer's MAC by kahuana2007-02-16 18:22:38

Reserve an IP for the printserver's MAC in DHCP. by themadkansan2007-02-16 18:30:07
Oh, and also without the clients having to remap by hadji2007-02-16 18:22:42
