I really have to wonder what it is that you want. Just what is the goal of this post here?
It certainly does not seem like you wanted a civil discussion. Your statement is too emotionally loaded for that. Kinda like the old "Are you still beating your wife?" question. I will not believe that you did not realize that.
Are you trying to get OC participants to adopt your idealism? I doubt that will happen. People here generally came by their beliefs by a combination of life experience that cannot be undone by a mere board posting.
Are you trying to get these discussions off the board? Give it up. The matter has been discussed, the creation of OC resulted, case closed.
Are you trying to get an admission out of the "gun crowd" that they are bloodthirsty killers who molest kittens and eat small children? Not gonna happen. Most people with an interest in firearms aren't actually evil, and will not slander themselves.
Are you trying to annoy a bunch of people whose opinion differs from yours? Congratulations. You did it. It's not a very nice thing to do, though.
So, what is it that you were (pardon the pun) aiming for? I am genuinely interested in what the answer might be. |
