A strange request from a strange UF'ie. =)P by shadowsystems2007-02-16 10:49:31
Assuming displacement of water. by vetitice 2007-02-16 13:55:57
1 cubic meter displaces 1 tonne of water.
1 cubic meter = 35.3146667 cubic feet.

If you really want to be picky, adjust weight by factoring in fresh/salt water and temperature. (or just shove a plimsoll line on the side of the boat)

The problem is boat Tonnage isn't measured in metric or imperial tons (1000kg or 2200lb) but by it's own measurement also known as a Tonne, which is 100 cubic feet instead of 35.

Check wikipedia here for waay too much info on tonnage.
